Patient of CartiLifeTM

  • Knee cartilage defect (ICRS grade Ⅲ or Ⅳ, defect size 2 ~ 10 cm2)
  • Causes of cartilage defect: Degenerative(OA), Traumatic, OCD ..
  • No age limit

Do not administer to the following patient:

  • Patients with bovine protein hypersensitivity
  • Patients with Gentamycin hypersensitivity
  • Patients with inflammatory joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis
  • Patients with Osteoarthritis Kellgren-Lawrence grade 4
  • HIV, HIV-1/2 positive patients
  • Patients with arterial bleeding and severe venous bleeding

Very limited intrinsic healing ability

  • Avascular tissue
  • Compact ECM & small portion of chondrocytes -> limited cell migration to the defective site
  • Chondral lesions: no spontaneous healing
  • Osteochondrallesions: cell migration & bleeding from bone marrow -> fibrous cartilage -> No physical support as articular cartilage
