Ministry of Health and Welfare selected as a support business for overseas medical projects

HJM Hospital, the nation's first international hospital and well-known for attracting foreign patients, stated on May 15 that it was selected as the agency to carry out the "2019 Overseas Medical project".

This project is supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and implemented by the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency. It is a government project to build, support success and information sharing through customized support for medical institutions.

The total amount of government support is 540 million won (54 million U.S. dollars) over 4years, which will be used for full-scale development, stabilization, and large-scale projects.

Before the name change, Cheongshim International Hospital was selected for the "specialized program for attracting foreign patients" by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the second consecutive year in 2019 and is currently under way. In addition, Cheongshim International Hospital has received 15 projects from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Gangwon Province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea National Tourism Organization, the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Gyeonggi Province and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province since 2009, creating a preemptive project result.

HJM International Hospital, which was opened in 2003, is known as Western and Oriental Cooperative Hospital, the first hospital in Korea to attract 250,000 foreign patients over the past 16 years.
